The 20,000 sf space that is now a fitness club was formerly an A & P supermarket in a strip mall. At the initial meeting, the space above the flat retail ceiling was explored, revealing a great volume between the bowstring roof trusses. This space has been reclaimed and enhanced by a 60’ long skylight, which now allows natural light into all areas of the club.
The member services features of the club include a juice bar and member lounge, a child care room, new locker rooms with sauna and steam rooms, and trainer offices. There is a large exercise room for fitness classes and vast areas for strength training, cross fit, cardio, and boxing. The mezzanine level features a spin room with glass panels that allow members to look through the open trusses.
