The scope of work for this project is to convert the four
existing two bedroom apartments into four new three bedroom
duplex apartments. This was achieved by lowering the
basement slab to create full height space, and adding a full
story on the roof. Each unit features an open kitchen and
living area, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The roof of
the building is also utilized as roof decks for the units
below. The stairwell is now flooded with natural light from
a large skylight, reminiscent of the skylights that were
prominent features when the original building was
constructed.
The former single car garage was
re-built and enlarged to create a lifted, double garage with
car lift, which will accommodate four cars. The roof of the
garage is now a roof deck for one of the upper level units.
